First impressions of this log home are very strong. The interweaving beams and posts create a gorgeous aesthetic which will excite all lovers of log cabins. This one appears to be a little different to your average American log home. That is because it is in Ruovesi, Finland, where they do cabins a little bit differently to what we are used to seeing.
Known as Pyykkiranta, this log home is listed for vacation rental on Mökkiavain. It is only 35 kilometers (21.7 miles) from expansive Helvetinjärvi National Park and sits in a gorgeous nature area on the banks of Lake Näsijärvi, which is ideal for fishing. The cozy cabin covers just 355 square feet (33 square meters), giving you everything you need to complement your vacation on the lake.

As we step inside the cabin, we notice an ample sized floor plan which is easily heated. The large, almost floor-to-ceiling windows provide constant views of the lake.
Looking down from the loft area, we notice the plentiful natural light which fills the room and the pleasant, rustic finish on the log walls.
The ground floor has an open concept encompassing the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The stone fireplace with wood-burning fire will provide plenty of heat for this cozy cabin.
The dining table is adjacent to the kitchen and sits next to a large window which provides lake views while you eat your breakfast. Lovely!
The loft area is open to the main living room below and acts as a bedroom and master suite.
The loft covers the entire footprint of the cabin, making it a large room. It is filled with attractive rustic elements, including a red-brick chimney and exposed logs.
The large walk-in shower sits next to a relaxing sauna. No Finnish log cabin would be complete without a steam room; it is something which is deeply ingrained in Scandinavian culture.
The cabin has an entrance via a mud room - perfect for making sure you do not walk the outside filth into the cabin.
The cabin has a lovely little pier which reaches out onto Lake Näsijärvi, which is ideal for fishing, swimming or boating.
